Nov. 19, 2019—U.S. News & World Report has listed Kendal on Hudson among New York’s Best Nursing Homes for 2019–20. Kendal on Hudson was identified as a “High Performing” for Short-Term Rehabilitation along with eight others among the 106 nursing homes in New York state included in a U.S. News report released Oct. 29.
The rating aims to provide patients with a clearer view of the quality of care provided by nursing homes to short-stay patients in need of intensive rehabilitation or nursing services before they return home after a surgery, stroke, accident or illness.
The data used to evaluate nursing homes came from the federal Nursing Home Compare program. It incorporates nurse staffing, health inspection and quality measures star ratings. Kendal on Hudson has an overall rating of 5-Stars on Nursing Home Compare website. Five-stars is Medicare’s highest rating, based on state and national averages.
“It is truly an honor to be acknowledged by U.S. News & World Report for the services and care provided in our skilled nursing neighborhood, Clearwater. Our Interdisciplinary Care Team is dedicated and compassionate and is so deserving of this accolade,” says Lisa Wacht, Kendal on Hudson’s Health Services Administrator. “Positive quality outcomes and measures drive this recognition, and the award further highlights our strong clinical program lead by our tenured Director of Nursing Services, Christine Appel.”
