Pamela Klapproth named Kendal on Hudson ED/CEO

Howard Smith, Chair of the Board of Directors, has announced that veteran senior living administrator Pamela B. Klapproth has been selected as Kendal on Hudson’s new CEO/Executive Director. Klapproth’s first day at Kendal on Hudson will be April 1.

Klapproth has more than 20 years’ experience as an executive senior living professional with expertise in strategic planning and operations, financial management, resident and board relations, fundraising, marketing and community relations, new building construction and renovations, quality and compliance, including CARF and Joint Commission accreditations.

“Pamela’s background and experience, which include strategic planning, have clearly positioned her to be an excellent fit with regard to the operational aspects of the CEO role at Kendal on Hudson,” said Board Chair Howard Smith. “She is known for her collaborative style and for being a good listener. Her depth of character and the sense of mission that led her to this work sustain her every day as she devotes a great deal of positive energy and many long hours in service to her community.”

Over the past seven years, Klapproth has served as CEO/Executive Director of Covenant Living of Cromwell, Connecticut, and as CEO of Fairview, Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut in Groton. In both positions she focused on strengthening resident relations through an open-door policy, active listening sessions and clear communication of goals related to resident life. In those and previous positions, Klapproth gained extensive experience with continuum of care services, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, long-term care, post-acute care, home care and hospice care.

A licensed nursing home administrator, Klapproth has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut in health systems management and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Hartford. She also has a certificate in long-term care administration from the graduate school of the University of Connecticut.

Klapproth succeeds Steve Fishler, who has served as Kendal on Hudson’s Interim Executive Director since August.
