April 18, 2022 —For the fifth year in a row, Kendal on Hudson was chosen by US News & World Report (February 2014) as one of “America’s Best Nursing Homes” based on comparative data from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. (CMS)
CMS sets and enforces standards for nursing homes enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid. They require nursing homes to submit clinical data for the latest three calendar quarters detailing the status of each individual Medicare and Medicaid resident. The agency also collects information from states and individual homes, and on its Nursing Home Compare Website it assigns each nursing home a rating of one to five stars in each of the following categories: Deficiencies in state-conducted health inspections; Nursing staff time with residents; Quality of medical care provided to residents.
