A Culture of Giving

Kendal’s philosophy of philanthropy dates back over 30 years when community-minded people made a gift for

the establishment of the first Kendal community. This tradition continues at Kendal on Hudson.

Gifts to Kendal at Hudson, a not-for-profit organization, support the goals of our community guided by our Values

and Standards including those of equality, community and social responsibility. Charitable giving for the benefit of

Kendal on Hudson provides an opportunity for our contributors to play a meaningful role in Kendal’s culture of generosity,

unique to the interests and preferences of each contributor.

Our charitable goals:

To support residents who, through no fault of their own, find themselves unable to meet their monthly fees.

To support enhancements to the Health Center, in context of our special commitment to meeting the needs of the

“frailest among us:”  and to support wellness programs for our community.

To support the Kendal staff in times of family crises and emergencies; and to offer them expanded education and

professional advancement which may not otherwise be affordable.

To support grant-making programs, services and research that seek to address and enhance healthy aging in the wider

community.  Kendal works collaboratively with the Resident Council, which has focused on social needs in the local area

in its charitable activities.

Since opening in 2003, generous donations have enabled the expansion of our fitness programs, increased tuition support

for eligible staff members, outreach to our community public schools and many other important initiatives.

Kendal on Hudson welcomes inquiries about gifts and bequests. Please contact our Executive Director at 914-922-1000.
