Our Vision for the Years Ahead
Our Mission:
To provide innovative programs and services to foster the autonomy and well-being of older adults in our community, based on a values-driven commitment to:
- supporting independence and equality
- fostering a spirit of community
- focusing on wellness and quality health care
- creating a climate of continuous learning and innovation,
- operating in a manner always consistent with the highest standards of
social, fiscal, and governance responsibility in order to fulfill our promise of future care.
Our Vision for the Next 10 Years:
Kendal on Hudson will redefine the concept of aging as a time of continuing living and learning for those we serve in the Hudson River Valley.
- Both on campus, and in time in the wider community, we will develop and offer superior programs and services that are distinguished by our values and our goal of enabling and empowering the well-being of each person we serve.
- We will recognize the increasing diversity of those we serve and seek to provide flexible options to meet a range of changing needs.
- We will be an outspoken promoter of healthy aging and an innovator in model practices in services and programs for seniors, especially through the use of technology. We will advocate on these matters within our profession, and in the wider world.
- We will develop and advance powerful partnerships with Phelps and other health care providers to truly deliver on the promise of the integrated "continuum of care".
- We will seek partnerships with other organizations who share our vision -- colleges and universities, local government, other senior organizations, etc. to create new and innovative programs for all we serve.
- We will be an employer of choice in our marketplace, recognizing that our employees are full members of our community, and that Kendal must be a good place to work in order to fulfill its mission and vision.
- We will be good stewards of the environment, and of all our resources, always focused on fiscal responsibility and excellence in management and governance.
- We will be an integral and vital part of our community through outreach, volunteerism and philanthropy, both internal and external--recognizing that the "time, talent, and treasure" of our residents, our volunteer leaders and our staff will enable our vision to succeed.
