Director of Health Services - Karen Harvatin

Karen Harvatin, Director of Health Services, has over 25 years of experience in health care including 8 years of work in skilled nursing and, most recently, 5+ years as Executive Director of the Vassar-Warner Home, an assisted living community in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Karen has specific background in social work, in- and out-patient services, public relations and admissions, and management and administration.  Karen holds a Bachelor's in Social Welfare and an MBA, both from SUNY-Albany and is a New York State Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.  Karen's role includes management of our health center and of all our health and wellness programs.

Christine Appel - Director of Nursing

Chris attended Maria College and hasd over 30 years experience in long term care and home care.  She manages the clinical team in the health center, and works with eh residents and their families in care planning and long term care needs.

Medical Director - Tobe Banc, M.D.

Dr. Banc is a board-certified geriatrician, graduate of New York University School of Medicine, with fellowship work in geriatrics at Mount Sinai Medical Center and postdoctoral training in palliative care. Dr. Banc is an attending physician at Phelps Memorial Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. Her new responsibilities will include coordinating and overseeing all professional medical services provided by physicians at Kendal on Hudson, and working as a liaison to medical staff. She will also collaborate as a key member of the resident care team, helping to advance Kendal on Hudson's commitment to quality care and continuous improvement through participation and leadership in many important committees and working groups within the health center.

Joe Sullivan - Director of Rehabilitation

Joe has several years of experience at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital as a Director and staff therapist, and most recently as a Rehabilitation Director at Field Home, a nursing home in Cortlandt Manor.  Joe oversees the physical and occupational therapy department at Kendal on Hudson, including in-patient and out-patient services.

Nicole Jackson - RN, FNP

Nicole Jackson comes to Kendal as our Wellness Center Family Nurse Practitioner.  She has worked for over 10 years with the Dominican Sisters Family Health Center in Ossining coordinating and supervising nursing staff to in-home patients.  Nicole has also worked as a staff nurse for both Hudson Medical Group in Peekskill and Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Peekskill.  She has received her Associate and Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Pace University Leinhard School of Nursing in Pleasantville.  Nicole is a member of the Sigma Tau Honor Society of Nursing.

Wellness Center Manager, Patricia Munson LPN

Pattie brings over 30 years of nursing experience to Kendal on Hudson.  She has worked in nursing homes, school systems, private psychiatric hospitals and with internists in the field of Gerontology.  Pattie is also an EMT volunteer. 

Stacey Conway - LCSW, Director of Social Work

Stacey graduated from Adelphi University with a Masters degree in Social Work, and received her Certification to practice in New York in 1986.  She has worked in Long Tern Care since 1987.  In 2007, Stacey received her clinical license and she has a concentration in psychiatric disorders.  She also work supervising graduate students. At Kendal, Stacey oversees short term and long term admissions for the Clearwater.

Fitness Coordinator, Cathy DiSomma ACSM, RD, CDN

Cathy comes to Kendal on Hudson with years of Community Wellness experience.  She is involved with nutritional counseling, strength training, group lecture and design implementation of programs for special population to include seniors, post stroke, Parkinson's and pulmonary. 

Dietician - Mary Pat Hughes, MS RD CD/N

Mary Pat Hughes is the clinical dietician for the Clearwater.  She has been chief clinical dietician for the Marriott Corporation and Veteran's Affairs hospital.  Mary Pat's consulting positions include WARC, West Point, Phelps Hospice, Centers for Eating Disorder Recovery, Green Chimmney's school, Dominican Sisters, Maryknoll Fathers and Westchester Medical Center.  She is also a member of Assemblywomen Galef's New York State task force on school lunch.  Currently Mary Pat is president elect of WRDA and has serves as ADA media spokesperson.
